HCC’s Office of Communications (for credit) and HCC’s advertising/communications firm Yaffe/Deutser (for pay) have internship available for Spring 2010. The deadline for applications is January 19. The selection process starts on January 20.
Overview of Program:
Houston Community College’s Communications Internship Program will be an intensive program designed to provide HCC students with a well-rounded education and an opportunity to develop a working knowledge of the communications industry alongside exceptional professionals.
The internship program will be a partnership between the HCC Communications Department and the Broadcast Technology, Communications and Journalism Departments. The goal is to provide a learning environment that will maximize the student’s success upon completion of their educational goals. Awarded internships will have two components; in-class instruction and a practicum within the HCC Communications Department.

Following the mid-term examination, the instructor will identify potential students for the internship. Internship requirements will include in-class and hands-on work in the district communications office, and a communication project.
