HCC Chancellor honored as 'Educator of the Year'

Congratulations to HCC Chancellor Dr. Mary S. Spangler for receiving two well-deserved honors.

The Arab American Cultural and Community Center (ACC) honored Dr. Spangler as its ‘Educator of the Year’ at their 14th annual fundraising celebration. Dr. Spangler accepted the award before an audience of more than 450 prominent business, government and political leaders at the Hilton Americas Hotel held last month.

Another special recognition was given to Dr. Spangler and HCC faculty Kay King. They were both named to the Houston Woman Magazine’s 50 Most Influential Women in 2009. King is the Division Chair of HCC’s Central College Lifestyle Arts and Design Careers.
