Houston Community College was out in full force this weekend supporting our local community.
On Saturday, May 1, HCC was one of 100 participants in the 18th Annual Cinco de Mayo Parade held in downtown Houston.
More than 40,000 spectators were in attendance. All proceeds from this annual fundraiser assists the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) in accomplishing its mission of economic and educational advancement, while protecting the civil rights of all Americans through community-based programs.
The following day, Sunday, May 2, HCC joined hundreds of other walkers in support of the Asian American Family Services’ Walk for Total Health Body & Mind.
The event, held on the grounds of Rice University, was a success. All proceeds from the walk go towards raising awareness, providing support and advocacy for mental health and social well being of the Asian American community in the greater Houston area.
